The Astors' summer home "Beechwood" in Newport, Rhode Island. It is amazing what can be done with a little marble, crystal, and gilt...plus a few millions!

Postcard from Newport
Spent a couple of days on a Museum trip to Newport. It was so nice to see "how the simple folk live." This is a view from the backyard of the Astor's Beechwood Mansion.

Window Box Circle
This is such fun...art, nature, and technology working together!
A gardener & nature created the window box in Ocean Grove, NJ; I photographed it; dumpr technology turned it into a pretty circle!
Wow! I just checked the blog...and the photo is huge! I should delete and shrink it, but I think I'll leave it for a while.

Autumn Leaves
The slight nip in the air is a reminder of Fall! I did this watercolor one October at an Artscapes Retreat in Ocean Grove. There's something special about the Jersey Shore in the Fall...mostly...not too many people!

Jeweled Circle
Who knew that a website named "dumpr" could be so much fun! These are 3 butterfly pins that I received as a Christmas gift .

Snake Charmer in the News!
Contacted by an internet news site. They wanted to use this photo (along with others) in connection with a story about a Cobra being used by Harrod's to protect a jewel-encrusted shoe! So I said "OK."

From Flickr to Blogger
Just wanted to see if the "HTML" of a photo I posted on Flickr would work on Blogger...and it did! Wow...when I originally posted the picture, it took over the whole blogger page. Even the profile and flickr badge appeared on top of the huge photo. Let's see what happens with this replacement HTML.
I asked some children if I could take their pictures and this brother and sister decided on this very formal pose.

Azalea Lomograph
Still playing around. On www.dumpr.net (which I used to "hang" my artwork in galleries), I found something that converts your photo to a "Lomograph." I haven't a clue as to what a Lomograph is, but it did do something to the colors.
Want to know what a "Lomograph" is? Inexpensive film cameras that result in out-of-focus, weird colors, etc. There are "lomography" clubs! Urban Outfitters is selling a fish-eye lomograph camera for $38. Want to know more? Google it...that's what I did.

Abigail (& Joan)
So far this is the photo that's gotten the most comments on "Flickr." I'll have to find a "Cutest Dog Contest" somewhere, because this is obviously a winner! Abigail was in a good mood, and I tried out using a tripod for the first time; also with the soft, indirect lighting on the terrace, no flash needed, so no "red-eye."

Pastel in a Gallery
What's New?
Well...nothing exciting. I removed the non-working video from the blog, and added a different flickr badge to the sidebar. While it doesn't show constantly changing photos, the latest photos I added to flickr will appear. The nice little slideshows still don't work like they used to. I've searched Google & Picasa Help - no help! Guess I'll have to try e-mailing them about the problem directly. I've put lots of photos on an external hard drive, but I still have less than 1 GB of C-drive memory left. Too many problems, and not enough fun! I need to get out of the house and take some photos and do something fun!''
Well, compared to what's going on in the world...these are little frustrations indeed!

What's Going On?
I tried to put the musical slideshow "After the Rain" into this blog. It shows up, but I can't get it to run....so I'm deleting it.
The nice little flashing slideshows of various albums are not flashing any more. You have to click and go to the Albums. When did that change occur?
I had this nice little flickr badge that showed constantly changing photos; that's not working either! I'll try putting an HTML flickr badge into the template instead.
This is not fun!
Yes, I'm seeing red! But I guess it could be worse. My sister changed her phone system and lost both telephone and internet service.

Brooklyn Graffiti
Brooklyn Graffiti DSCN0011-1

Brooklyn has the best graffiti. Enlarge the photo and check "only the lonely" on the rusty door in front of the green bike.
Flickr not flickering!
I was so thrilled about getting a flickr badge into the blog...for about 2 days! When I first put it in, there was a full badge of constantly changing photos and sizes of the pictures. Then....only 3 non-moving pictures and lots of white space! Tried creating a new badge...same problem with the preview. Think I'll just take it off the template and start over. I should really do this on the "Utter Frustration" blog.
