Well, No "Hello Dalai"!

I knew I should have gone to bed before 4:30 a.m. Looked at the clock wrong, dressed, went down to the lobby, called a cab to get to the Museum before 7:30 a.m. All the time, thinking it was around 6:40 am--lots of time. Then I checked my digital watch--it was 7:43, not 6:43! Canceled the cab & went back to bed.

Is missing the Dalai Lama good Karma or bad? or just c'est la vie?

A Day with the Dalai!

Why am I sitting here playing with my Blog when I have to be at the Museum by 7:15 a.m.? Who knows. Well, I'm having picture downloading problems. I think I messed up the HTML whatever the H--L that is! I'll try just one more time.

I don't get it! This time the picture worked...although I just picked the first one available--and I don't think there's a Dalai-Daffodil connection, but who knows. Of course, I haven't tried publishing this post yet, so here goes....

First Jersey City--then Newark!

Had a great day exploring Newark and its historic preservation activities, restoration, new uses for old spaces, and for the second time, the totally restored Essex County Court House. Merle put together a great trip for the Museum day trippers. Liz, and developers, the Director of "City Without Walls," the community preservation activist, and the surprise talks from two of the Judges in their Court rooms, what a day! As usual, Merle pulled strings to guarantee absolutely glorious weather.

Of course, there are pictures..but time's a little short this morning (I have docent duty at the Museum), so the photos will be added later.

First Jersey City, then Newark...what's next? A tour of East Orange? You never can tell!

Jersey City ? After You've Seen Paris?

You might be surprised! Ok--so "antique" architecture goes back to 1900! But there's the old, the new, and the waterfront with NYC as a backdrop.

It's almost 2:00 a.m. Had a fun "retirement" dinner with friends at Perryville. Foie gras and a great Australian Shiraz. A warm ending to a really mixed bag of a day. And "blogging" for dessert!
