Landscape at Longwood Gardens

A fog rolled in at the same time that the lights came on in the late afternoon. What a bonus for photo taking. The gardens go on for acres and there was a surprise at every turn. Of course, I could only take a few shots...it was a Museum trip and there's always a deadline to get back on that bus! Without a tripod, I got some "artistically" blurry photos...but I think it's time I invested in a tripod or monopod. Posted by Picasa

Longwood Garden Conservatory

The only thing missing is the sound of the fountains and the perfume of the flowers! Truly a magical Holiday place. Posted by Picasa

LIFO, NOT FIFO!

Just an old accounting term for inventory...Last In, First Out vs. First In, First Out. I've been back from Turkey for some time, but keep posting the last photos first. Like Dumbo! Well, it's my blog, and I can do what I want! So, I'll go back one step, and post some Brandywine photos. They're really appropriate for the Christmas Season. Or maybe I'll try the new Picasa 2 album system. Are you waiting with baited breath?

DUMBO.....No, not the elephant!

Spent an interesting day last Saturday with the Friends of American Art in DUMBO (DownUnder the ManhattanBridgeOverpass). Brunch...a great view from the 2nd floor dining area of Bubby's Pie Company. After a short walk along the riverfront, on to the studio of sculptor Tom Otterness. We also visited the studios of several other artists in the area. The only thing we didn't get to was the Jacques Torres Chocolate shop. Been there, done that! One of the group members did go over to the shop and brought back some delicious chocolate-covered malt balls. Remember those?Got to the area around 10:00 a.m. and finished up around 4:30 p.m. which gave me an opporunity to get some sunset photos. As usual, I was the designated photographer for the newsletter, but I'm downloading the photos that interested me.
