After the Rain
Thanks to Ron, we were treated to a ramble through our garden with gardening expert Ellie. That is...until the thunder and lightning started...we didn't want to lose all the members of FOG in one swift bolt! There was a milder thunderstorm in the late afternoon, but then the sun came out. I was able to get these photos of the rain-spotted flowers in the dappled shade in between storms.
The Quiet Gesture - New Chinese Art
I finally got to take some more photos indoors and out in the museum garden after the members' reception on June 12th. It was a well-attended opening, with asian cocktail snacks, an open bar, and traditional Chinese music performed on the Yangqin, guzheng, and pipa by Li,li-qun, Yang Yi, and Huo Hong. The occasional shower did nothing to put a damper on the evening.
Jazz & Art in the Garden
Last Thursday was a beautiful day at my favorite museum. First, lunch under the trees while listening to Freddie Cole and his group, a chance to take some photos after the concert, an acquisition meeting of the Friends of African Art, and a fun dinner at 27 Mix! I'll post more about the amazing sculpture after I attend the lecture tomorrow evening.
Kip's Castle is a Trip!
A beautiful Spring day to tour one of the state's last mansions of America's Gilded Age. Then a pleasant lunch, with fun conversation, at Epernay in Montclair, followed by a visit to Loupe, a gallery featuring avant-garde studio jewelry. Some of the artists' works will be in the 2008 jewelry exhibit at the Museum.
Garden in the Rain
We didn't let a few raindrops dampen our annual Garden Party on Sunday and....the flowers seemed to enjoy it! There was a great turnout, plentiful food (from chicken wings to Sushi), spiked punch, wine, and live Jazz! As some one said, "Life is Good." These are just the flower pictures. The "people" pictures are in the "by invitation only" albums.
